It was no accident that the suit was filed on February 27, when the eyes of the nation were on Denver--although, with the airport open, the bonds look more solid then they have in some time.
Dan Muse dismissed the suit as "frivolous." But even so, the city will no doubt be hauling out its checkbook to hire still more lawyers to defend its position in this case.
"The public will pay dearly for the airport," an ABC correspondent intoned on Nightline Monday night. Noting that DIA had been the target of numerous jokes, host Cokie Roberts asked Pena who would get the last laugh.
But her network may have already provided the answer.
