HIT PICK

The Reejers, with Baldo Rex, Wednesday, October 18, at the Fox Theatre, had the poor manners to leave their Boulder home for Chicago--but the players (Dave Houghton, Nick Iurato, Dan Tomczyk and Jon Ellison) are making amends with this date, which is free to all comers. More important, they're bringing along with them plenty of copies of Erased, a new CD on the act's Cringe label that documents the continuing growth of a strong young band. Most of the disc's eleven songs are aggressive, spontaneous and tighter than some of the combo's early efforts, which tended to meander. The result is music that does Colorado proud, even though it's not being made here anymore.
