It's a Babihed tradition to provide me with inaccurate information--and the boys have done it again. Bandmember Bill Houston phoned to tell me about a fire-sale show on March 13 at Cricket on the Hill, and I duly reported it. Then, after our last issue hit the streets, two other Babihed vets called to say the show is actually taking place on Friday, March 20, at the Cricket.

Would I bet my life that they're telling the truth this time? In a monosyllable, ha. On Thursday, March 19, Guster blows into the Bluebird Theater, with Slim Cessna's Auto Club; Ladysmith Black Mambazo harmonizes at the Boulder Theater; and Armchair Martian, whose new disc appears on My Records, owned by a member of Lagwagon, visits the 15th Street Tavern. On Friday, March 20, Preacherman and the Congregation gather at 'Round Midnight, and Leftover Salmon plays for the first of two nights at the Fox Theatre. On Saturday, March 21, the Sour Mash Project can be distilled at Nick's in Boulder; Spencer Bohren warms up Sherman's Coffeehouse; and bluegrasser Steve Kaufman picks at the Swallow Hill Music Hall, with the White Lightning String Band. On Monday, March 23, the Church hosts Kidneypalooza, a benefit for employee Arnold Vigil, a transplant patient: Lord of Word and the Disciples of Bass, Opie Gone Bad and Judge Roughneck will be there. On Tuesday, March 24, Thee Lovely Lads put their best faces forward at the Mercury Cafe, with Moot, and the Blue Meanies color their world at the Snake Pit, with the Hate Fuck Trio. And on Wednesday, March 25, the Frantic Flattops buzz on over to Herman's Hideaway. Attending will provide you with shear pleasure.
