Q: I am looking for a "wild" restaurant. I heard that there was a Greek place where you could dance on the tables and smash plates (the traditional way!). Ever hear of anything like that?

More About

A: Well, you wild thing, the closest I could find was the monthly Greek Night at Thia’s (6495 East Evans Avenue, 303-757-5828). Chef/owner Jimmy Lemonidis won’t go so far as to say that it’s okay to break plates — "It happens, but if you’re planning on it, please bring your own," he says — but people have been known to get up on the tables, and a good time is usually had by all.

The next Greek Night at Thia’s, complete with music and ouzo specials, is scheduled for November 11; you have to call ahead to get in, because the place is wall-to-wall by the end of the night. "I never know what will happen, but it will be loud and crazy as always," Lemonidis promises. And delicious: I can vouch for Thia’s Greek food, especially the hummus, the marinated octopus, the souvlaki and Lemonidis’s version of saganaki, a rum-soaked kasseri cheese that he flambés tableside. Opa!
