Few DJs have the reputation and name recognition of Doc Martin. From his stint as opening act for Deee-Lite's world tour in 1994 to his recent studio work remixing A Tribe Called Quest, the dance-club superhero keeps bulldozing his way to the top. Martin's innate ability to combine a plethora of musical subgenres -- spinning techno with funk, for example, or deep house with trax, then throwing in some classics -- lies at the root of his legendary knack to rule the decks for eight hours. A resident of Los Angeles, he serves as an anchor for the West Coast dance scene, spreading his vibe as producer and remixer while controlling the board for parties big and small throughout the world. On Wednesday, May 15, Martin shares the Soma stage with Wax Record's Little Chris and local favorite Ejay.
