A fine jazz combo is coming together in Denver. The only problem is that the players will swing together for one night only -- a pity when you consider the lineup. Pianist Eric Gunnison, trumpet player Ron Miles, saxophonist Pete Sommers, bassist Mark Simon and drummer Paul Romainewill unite to play tribute to stars of the '50s-era West Coast jazz scene in a special matinee performance on Sunday, May 4, at the First Universalist Church (4101 East Hampden Avenue). Showtime is 2:30 p.m. Enjoy the combo while it lasts...which should be for approximately two hours.
