The family-friendly event will feature a wide variety of entertainment, including acrobatics, aerial dance, hand balancing, static trapeze and crazy contortions.

"It's a journey of sorts into another world, one of magic and wonder," says Jorgensen. "People are going to be extremely surprised."

The entertainment starts at 11 a.m. with performers mingling in a pre-show walkabout; the circus proper begins at noon at Copper Mountain's Burning Stone Plaza.

Jorgenson promises "a lot of audience interaction."

The circus comes back to town on July 11 and 25, August 15 and September 5. For further information, call 1-866-841-2481 or go to www.coppercolorado.com. -- Julie Dunn
