Drink of the Week
Gocce di Limone
Published on June 24, 2004
Jerry Seinfeld once imparted these words of wisdom: When you hit that high note, say goodnight and walk off. So for my final act as Drink of the Week girl, I gathered a group of faithful friends and headed to Moda Ristorante & Lounge for several rounds of Gocce di Limone martinis. The spectacular dark-yellow lemon drop ($8) is made with citrus vodka, Tuaca, sugar and a splash of sweet and sour, and topped with a cinnamon-sugar rim. The bar mixes up other stellar martinis, too, including the sweet Soprano and the rich Cioccolato e Arancia. A swank hangout in the new Beauvallon, Moda -- which means "fashion" in Italian -- is already attracting Denver's most stylish citizens, and they appreciate the attentive service, sleek decor and sleeker crowd. Attractive as those patrons are, though, the best view from Moda's lounge is a silhouette of the Rocky Mountains (ignore the huge Gart Sports sign in the foreground), which you can enjoy once the brutally bright sun sets. Now, let's raise our glasses to two years of great drinking together -- and goodnight!
