Scooter girls bust some suds
"We love drinkin', smokin,' wearin' short skirts, talkin' shit and cuttin' bitches while riding our hot scooters!" That's the manifesto of the Mods and Knockers, a new, all-girl (and how!) Denver scooter club whose members include Super Suzi, Galaxy Girl, Kittenpanties, Dr. Bonermaker and the Tarynnator. They'll all get down and dirty at 2:30 p.m. today at the sexy, soapy Scooter Scrub, a benefit for the Rape Crisis Center, outside of Pint's Pub at 221 West 13th Avenue. A five-buck donation gets your scooter or any two-wheeled vehicle washed ("scrubbed until it sparkles," they promise), while you wash down a free pint of beer. Now that's va-va-voom vroom service!
The members of Mods and Knockers all belonged to other scooter clubs when they decided to get together earlier this year. Although there's another all-female group in Denver, "We're younger and more crazy," says Danielle Spires, aka Kittenpanties. "We really support women's rights, the Rape Crisis Center and Planned Parenthood, and do all kinds of stuff like that. We're new, and we're ready to go."
But fair warning: The Mods and Knockers girls encourage you to stay away from them if "you are easily offended, misogynistic, homophobic, vaguely irritating, or just a creepy guy." For more information, go to Myspace.com -- Patricia Calhoun
