Sahara Hotnights

The question "Who Do You Dance For?" that Sahara Hotnights poses on Kiss & Tell is a far less threatening anthem than the femme-gem "Alright Alright (Here's My Fist Where's the Fight)" of its Jennie Bomb days. And though the tougher stance that the Hotnights had in 2002 is deeply missed on its new release, the band is still rockin' hard on plenty of songs with raw urgency and slick '70s-style guitar. The combustible riffs of "Nerves" and the sneering lip-gloss kiss-off "Walk on the Wire" are proof enough that these ladies are not losing their razor-sharp edge. Unfortunately, even they sound a little bored on the love-hate relationship tale "Keep Calling My Baby" and a bit lackluster on stalker story "Stay/Stay Away." Perhaps hitting the stage will light the fire under this hot act.
