The Rolling Stones

Thursday, November 24, Pepsi Center, 303-830-8497.

Pity poor Mick Jagger -- or at least feel his future pain. Ian Anderson is certainly capable of doing so. During a recent interview on KOA, the Jethro Tull frontman mused about how emotionally difficult it will be for the Mickster when he finally retires from the stage and is "cast adrift into a sea of old people." Fortunately, this prospect seems a ways off. After all, the Stones' latest album, A Bigger Bang, featured several fairly strong tracks, and the act's current tour is generating good notices from reviewers and fans. But even a 62-year-old as spry as Jagger knows that he'll wind down someday, and if he stops performing for outrageously exorbitant ticket prices now, he may eventually have to settle for a stainless-steel bedpan instead of a solid gold one or receive sponge baths from a single elderly nurse instead of a pit crew of nubile hotties. So please give generously to see Mick and the boys, along with opening act Jason Mraz -- because your dollars will help make the inevitable transition to retirement a little less heartbreaking.
