Adam Freeland

The Church

Adam Freeland has a knack for reinventing himself. The main man behind the nu-skool breaks movement of the mid-'90s, Freeland, who's also remixed tunes by such acts as Nirvana and the White Stripes, has helped bring rock and roll back to the dance scene. Taking that aesthetic a step further, the London-based DJ now fronts his own band, Freeland. Fusing breaks, punk, dance and whatever else he's feeling at the moment, Freeland puts his money where his mouth is and proves that rock isn't just another dance-club fad on We Want Your Soul, his namesake act's debut. Although he spent the bulk of 2005 touring Europe and Australia with his bandmates, Freeland remains a DJ at heart. Catch him this Thursday, January 5, at the Church.
