How 'Bout a Quickie?

There's enough love for everyone at the annual short-play production.

Colorado Quickies is "kind of a smorgasbord for the audience," says Write Angle Productions playwright and producer Tyler Smith. "They don't know what's coming from one play to the next, so it's always a surprise."

And smorgasbords, as everyone knows, are perfect for people who can't make up their minds. So collect a group of friends and head to the John Hand Theater, 7653 East First Place in Lowry, for opening night. The ten short plays, all by local authors, showcase a range of plots and themes, and there's truly something for everyone.

Tonight is the perfect night to go: Not only is opening weekend a preview weekend (meaning that anyone affiliated with a Denver theater group gets in for free), but tonight and every Thursday, tickets are two for one, and playwrights stick around for a post-program audience chat. The show runs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through March 18; tickets are $17 ($15 for students and seniors). Call 303-562-3232 to reserve tickets; visit www.writeangle.org for information.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 7:30 p.m. Starts: Feb. 9. Continues through March 18
