Winging It

Jake Adam York read at least 200 books of poetry last year. Of those, Catherine Wing's slim debut volume, Enter Visible, was one of the most intriguing.

"It was the funniest book I've read in a long time," says York, a University of Colorado at Denver prof and poet. "It's hard to write poems that are comical yet seem expert as well. To be able to combine humor and sublimity in that way is really impressive. She's young and quirky and very energetic." Naturally, he'd want her to read at another of his many endeavors, the Denver Mint Reading Series.

Check out the literary waves Wing is making, this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in room 1539 of the North Classroom Building on the Auraria campus. Admission is free; call 303-352-3500 or go to www.denverpoetry.org for information.
Sat., April 14, 3:30 p.m.
