What local artist(s) are you most excited about? Oakhurst, Nicole Torres and her Pet Alex, Lawhead, DeVotchKa, Munly and the Lee Lewis Harlots, Wovenhand, the Clam Daddys, Melissa Ivey and the Gentlemen, Armando Zuppa and Josh Blue (you have got to see him play the lap steel guitar and toy piano!).
What albums have had the biggest impact on you? The Beatles, Abbey Road and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band; The Pogues, If I Should Fall From Grace With God; Talking Heads, Stop Making Sense; Tom Waits, Small Change; Rick Wakeman, The Six Wives of Henry the VIII; Pink Floyd , Dark Side of the Moon; The O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack. We'll think of many more as soon as this leaves our hands.
What artists have had the biggest impact on you? The Beatles, Tortoise, Leo Kottke, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Nick Cave, Richard Thompson, Mark Lanegan, Phish, MMW, Manu Chau, Ben Harper, Ween, 16 Horsepower, Jim Henson and the Muppets, Cowboy Junkies, G Love and Special Sauce, Drums and Tuba, Leon Redbone and John Hartford, to name a few.
Myspace: godsend or the devil? It's been good to us so far, but who knows what it will turn into in a year? The dating ads are a drag. It feels a bit like a bathroom stall, but hooking up (with music lovers, that is) is great!
Do you have an iPod? If so, who's on it right now? We don't, but Zeb does. And being a world traveler, he has a ton of the best music you've never heard of. Vinyl and cassettes still rule!
