Gridlock jockeys along I-25 will be treated to a curious sight this afternoon: flying motorcycles. Its part of Cyclefest, aka the Fay Myers Suzuki Supermoto Classic, a high-speed hybrid of motorcycle off-roading and road racing thats taking over the parking lot at Invesco Field.
Weve created a pretty fast track, says Cameron Gray, president of M1 Entertainment, which is promoting the festivities. The racers will get close to 100 miles per hour in the straightaways, and then they have a jump off a 150-foot hill. Theyll be 200 feet up in the air, coming down into the parking lot.
In other words, along with Cyclefests stunt shows, local rock bands and skateboarding demos, attendees should be on the lookout for falling motorbikes. If that sounds delightful, then buzz over to Invesco Field, 1701 Bryant Street, today from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. or tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $25 for one day, $40 for both; get yours at www.faymyers.com.
