Baby, It's Cold Outside
The weather outside might be frightful, but inside Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret, 1601 Arapahoe Street, the ladies of Burlesque As It Was will be setting the stage on fire — so delightful! It’s time once again for Brrrrrlesque! Lovely Ladies in a Winter Wonderland, a most entertaining show complete with champagne-hat finale. “It’s this fabu-lous, amazing champagne extravaganza,” explains Burlesque As It Was founder (and Westword contributor) Michelle Baldwin. “The girls are all dressed in gold, with these insane champagne-glass headdresses I designed. We do balloons dropping, the countdown, and we have Baby New Year. It’s pretty over the top, and it kind of gets people warmed up for the real thing.”
And mark your calendars for January 4 and 5, when Burlesque As It Was puts on its Western show. “It’s very much to open the Stock Show season and going back to the Wild West roots of Denver, our cowtown heritage,” notes Baldwin. “We have cute cowgirls and Indians and an amazing can-can finale. And strip poker, of course.”
