Love Is in the Air

The warm, fuzzy feelings are all mutual at the annual Crush Party.

"LUPEC just adores the hi-dive," enthuses GerRee Anderson, public-relations representative for the Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails. "And the hi-dive feels the same about this party."

In fact, once a year, there are more than enough warm fuzzies to go around: It's LUPEC's Crush Party, and tonight's incarnation (the third) features music by DJs the Postman, Wigdan Giddy, Yer Momm and Pantyliner. Attendees can blow $5 at the door — all proceeds benefit Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains — and save their singles for drinks and crush pins, which the ladies of LUPEC will deliver to that tall, dark, handsome stranger you've got your eye on. "It's one of those great deals where you can totally do good for a charity but never feel like you've been sacrificing anything," notes Anderson. "It's a cheap ticket for a night full of great DJs — and then, for a drop in the bucket, you can also have a little fun." Get your crush on starting at 9 p.m.; the hi-dive is at 7 South Broadway.
