Grab your favorite music — whether it's on vinyl, a CD or an MP3 — and head to the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, which opens at noon today and runs through Sunday at the Denver Marriott Tech Center, 4900 South Syracuse Street. The show is the largest independent audio event in the country and features more than a hundred "listening rooms" full of all the latest high-tech equipment from vendors around the globe. And in some of those rooms, you can listen to your own music, no matter how low-tech its format. "This is the third year of the festival," says RMAF's Robin Rothman, "and we're really reaching out to a more general audience than just audiophiles." That's one of the reasons they're pushing the "ultimate listening experience," which in years past has compelled patrons to bring in recordings of Indian music and Gregorian chants. This year's fest includes live music, too, with the Jayme Stone Quartet playing tonight and Scott Von headlining tomorrow. Admission is $10 per day or $25 for a three-day pass; for more information, go to www.audiofest.net.
Fri., Oct. 20, 12-6 p.m.; Sat., Oct. 21, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sun., Oct. 22, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
