Love, Actually

Constance Eaton-Brown owned an antique store on the East Colfax Avenue strip for years and years. Old-timers will remember Eaton-Brown's shop, Collector's Choice, as a cramped, dark and musty antique store that specialized in costumes and even won some Westword Best of Denver nods back in the '80s. Eaton-Brown was local fashionista Chandra Moseley's grandmother, and Moseley still remembers being mesmerized by the prized revolving jewelry case when she visited as a girl.

It must have gotten into her blood: After Grandma passed away last spring, she papered the windows, gave the place a top-to-bottom makeover with help from design-savvy artist/partner Jeremy Rieser, renamed it Constance Love as a tribute and reopened the space as a bright, white-washed and pink-striped sweetheart of a vintage boutique.

Together, Moseley and Rieser have beautifully merchandised the store, beginning with a veritable handbag museum of purses from every era in every finish, from summer straw to shiny patent leather to elegant beaded clutches. An installation of mannequin heads shows off a collection of chunky costume jewelry, and display tables and shelves sport colorful glassware. On the racks you'll find such trendy gems as a taffeta-plaid shirtwaist dress or a shimmering, fringed, hand-dyed gauze shawl with layered ruffles.
