Upbeats and beatdowns: On a related note, Theo Smith (aka Lord of Word) has resurfaced after being off the grid for the past few years. While rumors of a Lord of Word and the Disciples of Bass reunion continue to circulate, Smith has joined US Pipe and the Balls Johnson Dance Machine, the outfit led by erstwhile Lord guitarist Chris "Citrus" Sauthoff.

And while we're still on the nostalgia beat, don't forget to pick up a copy of the latest installment of ListenUp Audio's Live From Ebbets Field series. The new disc, Live From Ebbets Field - Vol. 2, contains vintage performances from the likes of Tommy Bolin, Willie Nelson and Loudon Wainwright III, among others, all recorded at Chuck Morris's legendary 15th Street club back in the mid-'70s. Vol. 2 went on sale this past Sunday, and supplies are extremely limited. Since the first volume sold out quickly, be sure to grab the second edition at any local Borders music store, Virgin Megastore, ListenUp or Twist & Shout.
