Rabbit Is a Sphere

The Clap was a little hard to pin down: The band didn't try to sound like anyone else, it didn't follow the latest trends, and its members certainly didn't give the impression that they were desperately seeking anyone's approval. Some of the Clap's songs were charged with a Fugazi-like fire and conviction, while others were fragile, moody and melancholic. Because the band refused to put its music in a convenient box, a number of people were probably left unsatisfied. Still, the bandmembers stuck to their musical inclinations, and they remain as vital and fascinating as ever in the midst of a recent name change. Now known as Rabbit Is a Sphere, the outfit incorporates X-like vocal harmonies and unexpected guitar treatments into its overall sound. In the wake of its most recent release, Laps in the Sleep Saloon, Rabbit Is a Sphere's eclectic music is sure to make the Denver scene more colorful and well-rounded.
