If you've been to the Denver Book Mall recently, you may have noticed a miniature Christmas tree festooned with baby books and miniscule wire-rimmed glasses. And if your fingers just itched to take that tiny tree home or another titchy Tannenbaum with different themed decorations then you need to return to the Book Mall, 32 Broadway, tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. to bid on the assortment of cute, needled treats as part of the Rocky Mountain Alley Cat Alliance's Themed Tree Auction.

"We put a value on the tree," explains RMACA boardmember Kathy Hill, who organized the auction. "Then we start the bidding at half of what that value is." Hill's baseball tree, for example which includes helmets, ball ornaments, bats and a peanut garland cost about $40 to assemble, so the bidding will start at $20.
Proceeds benefit RMACA, and the trees and wreaths will be auctioned silently. For more information, call 303-202-3516 or go to www.rmaca.com.
