O, Tannenbaum!

If you've been to the Denver Book Mall recently, you may have noticed a miniature Christmas tree festooned with baby books and miniscule wire-rimmed glasses. And if your fingers just itched to take that tiny tree home — or another titchy Tannenbaum with different themed decorations — then you need to return to the Book Mall, 32 Broadway, tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. to bid on the assortment of cute, needled treats as part of the Rocky Mountain Alley Cat Alliance's Themed Tree Auction.

"We put a value on the tree," explains RMACA boardmember Kathy Hill, who organized the auction. "Then we start the bidding at half of what that value is." Hill's baseball tree, for example — which includes helmets, ball ornaments, bats and a peanut garland — cost about $40 to assemble, so the bidding will start at $20.

Proceeds benefit RMACA, and the trees and wreaths will be auctioned silently. For more information, call 303-202-3516 or go to www.rmaca.com.
Sun., Nov. 19, 6-8 p.m.
