Denver's independent boutiques always agree on at least one point during the holidays: They long to share with you their troves of shoppable riches, the sort you'll never find at the mall. At least one, the modern-design stronghold Mod Livin', 5327 East Colfax Avenue, puts its goods where its mouth is with Late Night Shopping at Mod Livin', a sophisticated weekly event that begins tonight from 6 to 10 p.m. and continues on Thursdays through December 21.
Mod Livin's gone overboard this year on giftable items, from stylish Jonathan Adler ornaments and modish pet accessories to Paul Frank monkey watches and robot toys for the kids. You'll also get to choose from the usual stuff: Nelson bubble lamps, Alessi teapots, exclusive Kartell furnishings and unexpected bargain-basement finds. Along with the shopping, the store will offer champagne, food from local restaurants and special promotions in a sociable, cocktail-party atmosphere.
Call 720-941-9292 or visit www.modlivin.com.
Thursdays, 6-10 p.m. Starts: Nov. 30. Continues through Dec. 21
