"You're invited December 31 to the rawest fucking New Year's Eve party! Leave the expensive hype and boring shit to the amateurs...bounce your ass all over the dance floor." I'm willing to bet that this is not how Dick Clark envisions a "rockin' New Year's Eve." In fact, the only thing about RockBar that might seem the least bit familiar to Clark is the '70s decor: pin-tucked booths, foil wallpaper, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, neon back-lit wall plaques commemorating iconic rock bands like AC/DC and Led Zeppelin, and a parquet dance floor begging for bouncing asses. If hindquarter hopping isn't your thing, the vintage arcade games -- Ms. Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and Frogger -- should keep you entertained. Since RockBar is tucked into the first floor of the All-Inn, I tucked into an All-Inn cocktail ($5), made with well vodka, gin, tequila, rum, triple sec, MD 20/20 Strawberry Banana and a splash of sweet-and-sour served in a huge pint glass; it tasted like a Long Island Iced Tea with Mad Dog. I preferred the Apple Mad Dog Martini ($6), made with well vodka, MD 20/20 Sour Apple and a splash of Apple Pucker. While ordering another round, I noticed that the Nativity scene above the bar had the three wise men in KISS makeup and a Pabst Blue Ribbon can as the baby Jesus. Rock on! But don't get mad: Just head to RockBar on New Year's, when you'll enjoy a complimentary Mad Dog toast at midnight.
