For the Sake of Argument

Whodunit? Was it Laura, the victim's wife, found at the scene covered in blood? A deranged bibliophile with a penchant for murder? Mystery lovers who join the new Whodunnit Book Club at Miss Prothero's Books won't find out who killed Robert Marshall in John Dunning's The Sign of the Book until 4:30 p.m. today, because by joining the club, they agree to stop reading at chapter forty and hash out the clues and red herrings together.

"I had a really hard time finding something that was a whodunit," admits Nan Wigington, owner of Miss Prothero's. "It seems like the way some things are written these days, most people will figure out who it is. My biggest fear is that everyone is going to have the right person and that there will be no arguing about it. But I think Dunning throws a wrench in this one, and I'm hoping most readers won't know."

Miss Prothero's Books is located at 1112 Santa Fe Drive. Joining the monthly club is free, but space is limited; call 303-572-2260 for more information or to sign up.
Sun., April 29, 4:30-6 p.m.
