Paper Dolls

If the models at tonight's Art Directors Club of Denver fashion show are in danger of anything, it's not being stuck by pins or having their zippers snag; rather, it's the likelihood of getting a paper cut. But Susan Burnett, administrative director for the ADCD, says she's not aware of that ever happening, and she's attended the Paper Runway Fashion Show/Benefit Show each of the two years it's been held.

"In the past, it has been one of the most fun events we've had all year," Burnett says. "It gives people a chance to step outside the box — people who work with paper on a day-to-day basis, but in a different way," she adds, referring to the sartorial masterminds — mostly graphic designers — behind the paper-only duds.

The runway walk starts at 7 p.m. at the Oriental Theater, 4335 West 44th Avenue; doors open at 6. Tickets are $20 for ADCD members, $25 for non-members, and $35 at the door. The majority of proceeds will go to Downtown Aurora Visual Arts, a nonprofit that connects youth with the community through art.
