Learn how to move at a Salsa Bootcamp.

Staci Davis has a very good reason why she — and the rest of the board of directors of Salsa Central Denver — picked Edie the Salsa Freak to lead a weekend program of Salsa Bootcamps. "She's the best," Davis says simply. "She's the four-time world-champion salsa dancer, and she's a native of Denver, so it's a great fit for us."

Plus, Edie is one of those women who make dancing look as natural as breathing. You can learn how she does it today and tomorrow at the Denver Turnverein, 1570 Clarkson Street. "It's for everybody," Davis says. "No experience needed — you don't even have to know how to dance. The whole weekend's a blast."

Today's beginner styling extravaganza includes instruction in listening and counting to salsa music, basic steps, turns, spins and dips. "Really sticking with the basic stuff, but for the time period you're there, you're going to have leaps and bounds of improvement," Davis promises.

Tomorrow's eight-hour course concentrates on ladies' styling, "to give them that 'wow' effect on the dance floor." Each individual camp is $75 in advance and $90 at the door, but you can package the two days together for a cool $120. Visit www.salsacentraldenver.com to sign up.
