Final Exam

For the past three years, eight students at the National Theatre Conservatory have studied as apprentices at the Denver Center Theatre Company. And after 35 classes, 1,095 days and countless peripheral roles in such DCTC productions as King Lear and The Pillowman, they're finally getting an opening night of their own. Starting this evening with a 6:30 p.m. curtain and continuing through April 28, they'll present Working — A Musical and The Elephant Man in the Tramway Theatre in the Denver Performing Arts Complex. That has to be the coolest final exam in the city.

In Working, each character has a story to tell in a moving collage of the American worker; The Elephant Man is the classic tale of a deformed man trying to find acceptance. The two shows will be performed on alternating days from Wednesday to Friday, and then back to back on Saturdays; tickets are $16.
