Scrambled Eggs

Remember when hunting for Easter eggs was fun? That is, until your older brother found all of them, ate the chocolate candy and left the plastic shell on the ground. Then you both got older, became too cool to look for bright colors in the grass and quit believing in the bunny who brings them.

But you miss it, don't you? It's nothing to be ashamed of. That's why Copper Mountain's end-of-season salute, Sunsation, has brought back Colorado's Largest Easter Egg Hunt for the second year running. And along with today's specialized hunts for ages four and under (noon to 1 p.m.), five to eight (11 a.m. to noon) and nine to twelve (1 to 2 p.m.), all-ages hunts will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"Last year, there were people who took it really seriously, and other folks who just sort of had it as part of their ski day," says Copper's Lauren Pelletreau. "We do hide a portion of the eggs on some of the lower trails of the mountain so folks can look while they're skiing and riding." But you don't need to buy a lift ticket — or anything at all — to participate; the Egg Hunt is free and open to the public, and will be followed by a family-friendly and Easter-appropriate musical performance by the Lee Boys. Visit www.coppersunsation.com for information.
Sun., April 8, 7 a.m.-4 p.m.
