Forgive me for being single. I appreciate bars and clubs that make an effort to attract women to their clubs through contests, discounts, etc... I would rather attend and even pay a higher price for my drinks, if there is an intersting woman to meet. Instead of the same six drunk old men at the end of the bar. Who knows, one of those women may even treat me to a few "free" drinks for a change.

Stevie, Stevie, Stevie...given your response, it's no wonder you lose every lawsuit. Stick to the issues. Your silence concedes that it is your objective to involve government in every aspect of our lives. It's the new conservativism. More regulation and more governmental interference. Joseph Goebbels would have been proud. Couching governmental control in terms of "civil rights." If only you weren't so stupid, and revealed your true purpose. Bye bye now. Back to obscurity you go. And to think, you could have been the next David Koresh or Jim Jones...only without the charisma.

I am wrong about my assumptions about you? Prove it. Prove that you aren't some sexist self-rightous biggot. Everything that you have done, all that you stand for, all of your actions just re-enforce my original observation: You are a woman-hating, sexist pig. How is what you are doing benefiting anyone but yourself and your self-rightous ways? You certinally aren't helping any of your fellow men, and you obviously don't give a damn about women, becasue all you are trying to do is take away our right to choose. You have a CHOICE to go to ladies night and pay full price or go to another bar/club/restaurant whatever and STILL pay full price, there'll just be less women there. You don't care about that, though, as long as you get your way and you take away other peoples liberties and freedoms so we are as miserable and lonely as you are.
You have have had multiple opportunities to defend yourself and your beliefs but you have done nothing but attempt to insult those who critize and post an opposing view to your attempt at a law suit, and really make no real logical or rational point what-so-ever. Thus, you have proven that you have no real point, but that you are just trying to make other peoples lives as difficult and miserable as you can by continuing with this rediculious crusaide, and state you are going to include us in your next book C.U.N.T. Can you get any more passive aggressive?
I implore you, please show me and the rest of Denver that you do not hate women, show us that you don't view them as objects, show us you are not a sexist biggot. If you can show this city that you are actually attempting to achieve equal and fair civil rights, then by God I will join you in your campaign to end REAL injustices, not this Ladies Night is evil and prejeduced bull.

Chewy and Prince Charming(entries 25 and 26)you are some weird dudes,or chicks,or,somewhere in-between. You are wrong on all your assumptions about me. The good news is that your prejudiced conjecture is certain to land you a job at the Denver Post where their employees practice prejudiced conjecture in their writing in each edition. Once again, I'll refer you back to my comments in entries 23 and 24.

Weenie's? Is that what we are, when you are the one trying to make free money by attempting to sue a newspaper for posting advertisements? We are the weenies when you are trying to justify your biggotry by hiding behind the guise of a self-rightous pioneer and 'civil rights' activist? Give me a break, Steve. You equate yourself to martyrs and fighters when all you are trying to do is take away everyones right to choose. You are doing nothing to better this world for your children, you are just teaching them to be intolerant, sexist, women hating biggots like yourself. Are women just objects to you? Are they something that you view to be your play things or servents? I feel sorry for any woman that has to put up with you, and especially for any young woman that has to put up with your sons if they are anything close to you. If I am off target here, please enlighten me. Because your lack of respect for anyone or anything around you is screaming emotional and verbal abusive biggot. Maybe you could use some counseling for whatever previous trauma you may have experienced that has caused you to behave this way. I'd be more than happy to offer my services to counsel you and guide you through your insecurities that make you act the way you do, for a fee of course. And I'd offer my counseling abilities to your sons free of charge, because if they are taking after you, they may not be beyond saving.

"Little Stevie Horner, sat in a corner, doing..." what pathetically lonely, divorced, old men do...
Ah, Stevie, you've given yourself away with your post #14. It's not about equal rights or the "rules." It's about your lack of control. You abhor single-parenting, yet you are a single parent. You're a product of public schooling, yet are ashamed of that. Apparently your "feminist" ex-wife decided that she'd be better off without you, directly contradicting your socio-economic-religion-based foundation. Her escape from you was the reward, but it's easier to classify it as a reward for "being a tramp." She joined the "society of single-parent moms" and the "monumental pile of social problems" are in your household. We'll never be able to ask your sons, because they've already legally changed their last names. You're campaign for "civil rights" is actually a campaign for more government involvement...which is consistent with your desire to have the government involved in health care decisions and forcing term pregnancies. I can't wait to hear your positions on human/animal cloning, micro-chip implanting, and what to do about the Canadian immigration problem. Better yet, how about a debate with Ann Coulter? Make a bigger name for yourself and I'll get the deal done on pay-per-view.
It's a shame that your position on the topics in Post #14 wasn't revealed before The Daily Show parody of your crusade. It would have been more hilarious. There's an new opening for a person with your qualifications in Lynchburg, Virginia. Have a nice trip.

Steve Horner's complete ignorance and unwaivering sexism is the cause for his complete selfish and intolerant attitude. This self-rightous biggot isn't really looking to better society, he's just upset that the bars marketing strategy doesn't favor him and he is jealous. There are bars out there that do 'guy's night out' that offer no cover or reduced priced drinks to men only, but I don't hear any plight from him to end that 'incredible injustice.' His comments prove only that his life is ruled by complete and utter ignorance and biggotry, and any bar that buckles to his completely idioc demands shouldn't be in business anyway. Anyone who thinks that women are 'handicaped at birth because of your gender' is obviously a sexist biggot who is in this for his own selfish reasons and really doesn't care about anything, or anyone, else.
You don't like Ladies Nights, Steve? Pick a place to go that doens't have ladies nights. You have the right to make that choice, and you don't have the right to take that choice away from any free citizen that chooses to exercise that right. Your small minded biggotry and sexism is why you are divorced and haven't been re-married. It's why Denver women are 'cold fish' to you, because you have absolutely no clue what respect and liberty really mean. It is sad and pathetic that you are trying to force others to take part in your discriminatory campaign and I will write and talk to every representitve I can find to make sure that your little plight gets stopped in it's tracks.
Oh, one more thing, do the city of Denver, the state of Colorado and in fact the entire country a favor, put your bottom lip over your head and swallow.

Does Mr. Horner not realize that in luring women to establishments offering discounted booze and cover, they are actually attempting to do men a favor by altering the ratio? These places are meat markets, and Mr. Horner is clearly not looking for a steak. His angry tirades do a great disservice to all single men looking for love. Maybe Mr. Horner enjoys the company of men more, not surprising since divorce seems to have left a hole in him. He should fill the hole with something more worthy, like helping people- instead of hurting hard working American businesses.
Do you really feel the need to defend yourself on the internet by responding to comments here? You are clearly very insecure and emotional-hey, just like a woman! Get a backbone, get a life, and do something to make a difference. It's not really about equal rights for men, it's about the fact that you were scorned and want to take it out on someone.
You are a very angry man Mr. Horner. Stop screwing it up for the rest of us.

Aaah, what a radical you are, finally standing up to the man (or woman) and fighting for your rights. What a joke, find a better cause to fight for seeing as how you are a sue-happy pathetic little man, you are relentless (and annoying) and you could put your stubbornness towards better things. I feel sorry for your sons and can only hope you haven't turned them into bitter, useless, money hungry men. Here's a suggestion, put on a skirt to cover your non-existent balls and take advantage of ladies night, otherwise stop wasting our time.

Because I am a mentor by nature and many of you seem to be totally confused by what feminism is and isn't and how my battle against ladies'night is pitted against the evils of feminism, I'm going to do a big favor for you; but the favor will last for just a short time.I'm going to reveal a download code so you can check out my novel, The Unusual Frank White Man, and my single-parenting book, Tackling Single Parenting. In the novel, there's an excellent discussion on feminism/Marxism in chapter six, titled Bend. As the chapter opens,Frank,a former hell-raising talk-show host is on the open road searching for a new job. He's about to be murdered and will end up in Purgatory where he'll resume his work as a talk-show host without realizing he's dead. You'll find his on-air guests to be quite interesting. The download code for the novel is as follows and remember, it is case sensitive: stevehornerbooks.com/bypass/UnusualFrankWhite.pdf The username is thankyou and the password is enjoy When you download the single-parent book, you'll find some good discussion in chapters six and seven on how feminism has taken over America's social-services industry and has worked hard to bust up families with ineffective and mean-spirited policies which I refer to as family-devouring dragons. That download is as follows and remember,it is case sensitive: stevehornerbooks.com/get/TacklingSingleParentingBook.pdf The username is thankyou and the password is enjoy I'll keep this username and password for just a short time so hurry and hook up with some real, credible information that has a serious impact on you and your well-being. For those skeptics out there, I realize that giving you access to my fine books is like putting a Bible in front of an atheist: she already knows what's between the book covers and has made up her mind long ago not to go there. That's what I call being small-minded.Good luck and then let me hear your comments at steve@stevehornerbooks.com

Tick. Tick. Tick.
Steve Horner's 15 minutes of infamy just ended. For the sake of all of the small businesses he has targeted in his blatant self-promotion scheme, let's hope he moves to another bastion of "feminism and marxism". Unbelievable.

James 05/26/2007 12:40:00 AM
What the hell does feminism have to do with going to a bar? If I am reading the complaint correctly,it's because the women are getting charged less then the guys?
Why would anyone not willing to pay a cover charge,no matter if it is ladies night, men's night,or cow's night, stay or pay a cover charge to enter? Why not go somewhere that does not charge the person to enter? Did you show up to the bar to late to go somewhere else?
What would make a person who does not like these places, keep trying to find them?
Here is the funny part. I am a guy that doesn't like ladies night either. But,I have no choice but to go to a bar/club during these nights, because other places have just men who are not paying attention to me because I am suing another establishment for making me pay more for drinks that I and ladie's can get for the same price at another bar/club that is not having a ladies night. Yes! I admit it. I want attention,so let me get on the bandwagon and start suing everyone for treating me this way. If you haven't figured it out yet,I am being sarcastic.

Steve Horner 05/25/2007 10:30:00 PM
Once again, as I proceed to the tennis court this afternoon, my curiosity got the best of me. So, I have checked into this site and will answer some of your concerns. First off, my personal ad on this site is working nicely...better than I would have guessed. Now, to you Lydia. Your obvious lack of knowledge of what feminism is or isn't is not surprising. The feminists have you right where they want you: out of touch with reality which is probably a result of your public school education(or,lack thereof)single parenting and reliance on the government for handouts. If you're seriously interested on learning about feminism I can quote you several books based on the research from former and current social-services employees which is the industry where feminism has planted its footprint: e.g. rewarding women to be tramps, creating a society of single-parent moms, all of which lead to a monumental pile of social problems that demand an ever-increasing reliance on the government and therefore assuring the feminist social-services industry a weekly paycheck. As far as Alyssa is concerned, she displays her prejudice and self-serving attitudes because what she really means by health care is a socialistic(feminist/Marxist)failed style of Canadian Health care which is thoroughly flawed at best. Her talk of "privacy" translates to support for abortion, the wanton killing of an unborn child for the convenience of the irresponsible parents; her talk of energy sustainability is gibberish at best...I'd like to know how Alyssa has reduced the demand for energy in her life; and her talk of civil rights is totally prejudiced and absurd because apparently my civil rights aren't important to her...once again the signature flag of feminism/Marxism, double standards, flies boldly over Denver while all the little Denverites strain their long necks skyward uttering:"Dude, what's that?"

Lydia 05/25/2007 7:13:00 PM
I'm puzzled that this discussion seems to be based on the assumption that Ladies' Nights have anything to do with acknowledging the income gap or discriminatory pricing for services for women. It is my understanding that the reason Ladies' Nights exist is to attract more women to bars for the benefit of men and the bottom line. Straight men oftentimes go to bars to meet women, or if that is not their main intent it is at least a point of attraction. This reality is further emphasized by the use of attractive women to sell men beer, cigarettes, cars and other consumables. The idea is that through promoting a Ladies' Night you attract more full-price-paying men to the establishment. It's that simple. So until straight men stop following women around like puppy dogs with their tongues hanging out (but who can fault them, really?), this system will continue to exist. Steve- blame your own gender for your plight.
Steve, I'm curious as to the citation for the quote "Don't want or need favors, thank you!". Was that based on your exhaustive research on feminist theory, or something you heard one person say once? Was that person another man quoting a woman? You are hilarious. Do you know how ridiculous you sound? The last thing I need, as a feminist, is some middle-aged, bitter man telling me what feminism is. Are you kidding me?
Lastly, I'd love an explanation on what motivated you to call Alyssa "prejudiced and self-serving". There was nothing in her comment that led me to believe she is either of those things. In fact, quite the opposite. Could you please point out what in her explanation of efforts to lobby "local representatives for decent health care, privacy rights, energy sustainability and civil rights laws" was prejudiced and self-serving? Thanks!

I believe Steve has just reached new dizzying heights of farce. Does he truly believe he can now use his new found "fame" as a platform to lure in the the type of women that he so evidentially disdains? Did I really just read a pathetic attempt at a personal? Was this meant to be a riddle? It's embarassing. Please slink back to the rock from which you emerged from.

Hey, sweetie, if you're a fully-liberated, in-shape single woman(preferably brunette) who is sweet through and through, good-looking, upbeat, fun, smart, active, and Christian, in your 40s or early 50s, had a swell childhood, have a few dollars in the bank, and can understand and appreciate the merits of my battle against Ladies'Night, then I've got our tickets for the Air Force Academy graduation in Colorado Springs on Wednesday, May 30th. We'll do donuts and coffee on our cruise down, take in the ceremonies from l0a-lp(keynote speech by Defense Secretary Gates, The Flying Blue Angels, and the customary hat toss)then enjoy lunch together; your treat.Just kidding. So, can you make it?steve@stevehornerbooks.com

Steve Horner 05/24/2007 8:22:00 PM
I don't know why I'm answering you,Alyssa. I guess it was my curiosity to check into this site on my way to the tennis court. My first inclination was to be sarcastic with you such as, "You don't understand the big picture,Alyssa, because you're handicapped at birth by your gender." But then I decided to have patience and to be a big-brother mentor. You see, Alyssa, the legislature makes the rules as they did in regards to places of public accommodation. You might not like it,but according to the rules, being discriminated on the price of a drink at a bar is EXACTLY the same as Wal-Mart charging a black woman double the price they get from a white man for a loaf of bread. So, you might not like the rule and secretly you might truly believe that women like you really do deserve special favors even though 35 years of liberal feminism has said women like you "Don't want or need favors, thank you!" it's still the law for the people,by the people. If we don't have a central body of people making laws, then who decides what is lawful and what isn't? Wouldn't it be a horror show if that decision laid in the laps of prejudiced and self-serving people like you? Whew! Besides, the Justice Department has told me that special favors, or,the entitlement mentality, is making young women ages l8-25 the largest growing population cell in prison and jails. That's because these women have been raised as entitled princesses thinking the rules don't apply to them. Ladies'Night is the perfect vehicle for me to say to these young chicks,"The rules do apply, honey, like it or not." So, you see, Alyssa,I'm really doing you a favor by helping you stay out of jail. But, maybe it's your gender which keeps you from recognizing that.

Careful what you say. Mr. Horner may sue you for slander. I wonder if he has ever bought a lady a drink at the bar?
-
Alyssa K 05/24/2007 7:42:00 PM
I am not an apathetic know-nothing-do nothing crybaby. While my legislation was in session I lobbied local representatives for decent health care, privacy rights, energy sustainability and civil rights laws. I happened to focus on civil rights other than the issue that really gets Mr. Horner invested in the social discourse- the unequal distribution of free, crappy liquor. I can only hope Mr. Horner is committed to the spirit of nondiscrimination and will continue to fight for civil rights that actually have real world applications. Mr. Horner's interests have as much relevancy to civil rights as the NRA has to the original intention of the 2nd amendment.
-
Steve Horner 05/24/2007 6:43:00 PM
The Colorado legislature just wrapped up this year's session. While it was in session did any of you apathetic crybabies from Know-Nothing-Do-Nothing-But-Whine U.S.A. lobby your representative to make exceptions to the state's civil rights laws for bar and nightclub promotions such as ladies'night? What? You didn't? Well then shut the hell up.
-
Brenda Harvey 05/24/2007 4:37:00 PM
I only have one comment on this. I will give up my ladies nights when dry cleaners and hair stylists start charging women the same prices as they charge men for the same service. Lets not forget that while there has been vast improvement, the pay scale is still not equal between the sexes in many cases. So I have to feel badly about getting a watered down drink or a free cover but no one feels bad about over charging women for so many services? I don't get it.
-
DK 05/24/2007 4:28:00 PM
Here's a quick and easy way for bars to avoid getting sued by this loser: change the name of your "Ladies Night" to "Bitches Night". That way, Steve Horner can get his half-price Fuzzy Navels too...

Is Steve Horner aware that women make significantly less money than their male counterparts do in the work place? Or that women pay more for goods and services such as dry cleaning and toiletries. I mean come on,this isn't about discrimination it's about some opportunist asshole trying to make a buck. Can all the bars in Denver just '86 this clown?
