It Takes a Tribe

The past catches up with the present at the Colorado History Museum, when Tribal Paths: Colorado's American Indians, 1500 to Today joins a lineup that already features Ancient Voices: Stories of Colorado's Distant Past, an exhibit that opened in 2005 and traces Native American history back more than 10,000 years. In contrast, Tribal Paths focuses on how the lives of American Indians changed once they came in contact with explorers and settlers, offering a look at everything from reservations to the American Indian civil rights movement to contemporary Indian art (Bunky Echo-Hawk is the first artist featured in the gallery). Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for students. For more information, call 303-866-3682 or go to www.coloradohistory.org; the museum is located at 1300 Broadway.
Starts: Jan. 19. Daily, 2007
