They seem very committed to the people and bands here, almost exclusively using local folks to run sound, lights, tech support, as well as opening acts. Bright Channel opening at Red Rocks? Those kids are in for a treat.

Which artist has had the biggest impact on you? My child, who plays the drums on my head.

If you were a street in Denver, which street would it be and why? Any street in Five Points. It's hard out here for a pimp.

If you had to choose one act to represent Denver, who would it be and why? Single File. They are one of those bands who play amazing music, are amazing guys and have earned everything they've gotten. Living proof that if you hustle long enough, good things can happen!

Which artist has had the biggest impact on you? He Is Legend: They opened our eyes to the way music should be played.

Which album has had the biggest impact on you? I Am Hollywood - He Is Legend. Simply amazing!

File-sharing: Godsend or the death of music? Godsend! It's our responsibility as artists to release a CD that isn't shit and has more than one good song on it. These days, that's not always the case, and people (including me) don't want to waste their money paying for an entire record for one song. Therefore, they download it! Thanks a lot, rap music!

Favorite place to hang out/drink: Björk at Red Rocks. Or Sputnik, if I want to stay in the neighborhood and see some friendly faces and get a grilled cheese.

Best artist/band to come out of Denver (that's not yours/you): George&Caplin. They've created a large collection of very original and beautiful music over the span of many years and albums. You wouldn't think they could improve their sound, but each new album is more impressive than the last.

Best song to come out of Denver (that you didn't write): I'm not sure about that one, but I used to get excited when I'd hear hip-hop MCs shout out Colorado on their albums.

If you were a street in Denver, which street would it be and why? Emerson, because it's got a lot of good, a little bad, it's way stealth, and it doesn't have many stop signs.

If you had to choose one act to represent Denver, who would it be and why? There's so much great local talent, but at this moment I would say Scaffolding and Sarah Marcogliese. They bring together elements of music that spread across a wide spectrum of different sounds coming out of Denver: electronic/organic/sexy/experimental/dancey.

Which artist has had the biggest impact on you? It isn't musically, but the artist Bit Meddler had a big impact by influencing my recording-name decision. After hearing his name I laughed for a few minutes and decided to come up with a tongue-in-cheek play on words that would refer to my computer geekiness.

Which album has had the biggest impact on you? There are so many, but right now I would say Jazzanova: The Remixes (1997-2000). The production and style blew me away and made me realize the limitless possibilities of melding genres into something new and interesting (and accessible, if you're into that kind of thing).

File-sharing: Godsend or the death of music? Godsend. There's so much music out there to sift through to find artists you really like. Downloading is a great way to find out about new music, but I think everybody should try to support the artists they like by buying the albums, etc. Personally, I'd rather have someone download my music "illegally" and enjoy it than not have the chance to hear it.

Who's on your iPod right now? I took a stand against iPods and never got one. But I've been listening to the new albums from Brightblack Morning Light, Amon Tobin, Björk, the Bird and the Bee, and some dubstep, which is a pretty cool new-ish electronic-music genre.
