Band Aid

Emily Francis is turning 27, and she wants everyone to know it. The road perma-buddy — she's a career tour manager, working for acts like Planes Mistaken for Stars and These Arms Are Snakes — celebrates getting older today with a big-ass birthday fiesta at 3 Kings Tavern, complete with piñatas and bean dip.

It also happens to be the official release party for the (sort of) new Mustangs and Madras effort, La Lechuza. The band, also managed by Francis, self-released the album last fall, but after signing to Milwaukee-based label Latest Flame early this year, decided to repress the disc.

Come sip Bacardi (or Pabst) like it's your birthday at 3 Kings, 60 South Broadway, with Francis and the Mustangs gang, plus openers the Autokinoton, Git Some, Weather Is Happening (from Wichita, Kansas) and top secret out-of-town guests. Admission is $3, and doors open at 9 p.m. Don't forget to bring a present, cheapskate. For more information, visit www.myspace.com/mustangsandmadras.
