Today's Liberty Run, Walk & Festival of Rights has a political slant, as befits an event benefiting the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation of Colorado. On top of music from Hotcakes Dean & the Flapjacks and assorted walks and runs for children and adults, "we've got a bunch of kids' games with a civil-rights twist," says race spokesman Erik Maulbetsch, "like a pick-your-president beanbag toss, where you can throw your beanbag through Mitt Romney or Barack Obama or whoever."

Local politicians will also get into the act by painting bricks that make up so-called GraFREEti walls. Participants include Diana DeGette, Mark Udall and Denver mayor John Hickenlooper, who's getting an assist from his son, Teddy.

Hope that's not a violation of child labor laws…
