"We're smaller than some festivals, and not so glamorous," says Reel Fest director Sara Pinsoneault. And, she adds, there's nothing quite like a quickie to keep film-goers interested: "If you dont like one film, you can just wait five or ten minutes and there's another film on the screen."
Reel Fest begins tonight with an opening-night party at 5 p.m. at Calypso, 226 Elk Avenue, followed at 7:30 by an evening with filmmaker Joan Churchill at the Crested Butte Center for the Arts, 606 Sixth Street. Screenings continue through August 12; tickets are $10 to $15 per screening or $125 for an all-inclusive VIP pass. For details, go to www.crestedbuttereelfest.com.
