Art All About

The premise of today's Artabout Englewood is simple: "What we're trying to do is bring awareness to all the artists and the art that we have located in Englewood," explains Nancy Fenton, Englewood's executive assistant of community development. "It's a whole day of art within Englewood."

That day starts at 10 a.m. on the Piazza at CityCenter Englewood, 1000 Englewood Parkway, where art lovers can have coffee with a variety of artists. From 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., free shuttles run from Englewood Civic Center, also at 1000 Englewood Parkway, through the city, taking passengers past spectacular sculptures. From noon to 5 p.m., self-guided studio tours will be taking place all around town; participants will receive raffle tickets to use at the 5:30 p.m. closing party at Joseph's Art Works, 4066 South Clay Street. Finally, back at 1000 Englewood Parkway, the Museum of Outdoor Arts is presenting "Sacred Water," a free multimedia performance.
