Pure Goldy

Evergreen author Diane Mott Davidson has offered plenty of entertainment for whodunit fans. But she's also served up useful lessons about the challenges of contemporary society. Goldy Schulz, the star of the series that Davidson cooked up decades ago, had to battle her way out of an abusive marriage to the Jerk and rebuild her own life before she could start solving mysteries; in her latest adventure, Sweet Revenge, a disgraced DA is murdered, and the woman who gave the Jerk his just desserts seems to be back from the dead.

Find out more tonight at 6 p.m., when Davidson will speak and sign copies of the book at a fundraiser for the Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Non-Violence at the High Crimes Mystery Bookshop, 946 Pearl Street in Boulder. Admission is $25, and that includes a buffet of appetizers and desserts. For reservations, call 303-443-8346.
Wed., Aug. 22, 6 p.m.
