Ballroom dancing: Is it the next big thing? If you ask the six celebrity finalists in tonight's YWCA of Boulder County fundraiser, Dancing With the Boulder Stars — designer Richard Foy, banker Wendy Reynolds, real estate maven Stephen Schaller, entrepreneur and self-help author Theresa Szczurek and Boulder parking czar Molly Winter, all big fish in the Boulder pond of business and politics — it most certainly is. After ten weeks of hush-hush rehearsals, the suave sextet will sway and dip to cheers with their Boulder-based dance instructors, vying for the cherished title while raising money for a good cause.

Intrigued? Who will be Boulder's Emmitt Smith or Apolo Ohno? Come down and see the show — an obvious TV spin-off — then cast votes for your favorite team at $1 a pop. The fun, which also includes some guffaw-producing video highlights from the dancers' training sessions, begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Boulder Theater, 2032 14th Street; for tickets, $35 general admission and $50 reserved seating, call 303-786-7030 or go to www.bouldertheater.com.
