Shakedown Sequel

Mile High Shakedown is back for more.

Lovers of low-brow art, hot rods, custom motorcycles and beer, pay attention: Aaron Hoffmeyer has heard your pleas for a party that caters to all your needs. After the success of Mile High Shakedown this past spring, Hoffmeyer has put together Mile High Shakedown Part BOO, and it's bound to be bigger and better than the original.

"We have three different bands that are gonna be playing, ten different local artists that are gonna be showing their stuff, an art auction of art compiled by those ten artists and some artists from out of town, and all my buddies are going to show up in hot rods and customs and motorcycles," explains Hoffmeyer. Jett Black, Whiskey Throttle and the Royal Dead are all on the playlist; hunger and thirst will be slaked with food from Mezcal and lots of beer. "We're going to have a costume contest," he continues, "and a friend of mine is building a big coffin that'll be waterproof, so we'll do bobbing for shots and big-mouths and all kinds of weird stuff."

Proceeds from the art auction will benefit the Tennyson Center for Children; the Shakedown starts today at noon and continues until midnight, and admission is free (although donations for the Tennyson Center will gladly be accepted). It all goes down at 238's Gallery, 238 Santa Fe Drive; call Hoffmeyer at 720-635-0159 for information.
