X Marks the Spot

The Red Cross hosts a disaster-filled treasure hunt.

The Mile High Chapter of the American Red Cross wanted to find a fun way to educate Denverites on how to prepare for emergencies. And what could possibly be better than a treasure hunt?

Today's Paint the Town Red Treasure Hunt leads participants through downtown, going from clue to clue. "Along the way, they'll be answering questions about the Red Cross, our services, disaster preparation and getting helpful tips," explains the Red Cross's Adeeb Khan. Players must complete challenges such as a charades-like game involving Red Cross buzzwords and performing thirty CPR chest compressions in an allotted time. The idea is to educate participants about disaster preparation and planning. The hunt costs $25 per individual, $35 per couple and $50 per family or group and goes from 1 to 4 p.m.; all proceeds benefit the Mile High Chapter of the Red Cross. Call Kahn to sign up and to get your first clue at 303-607-4794.
