Keystone's fourth-annual all-night marathon is bigger than ever this year, because in addition to 36 hours of skiing and snowboarding, 36 hours of drinking and dining at the restaurants and bars that stay open, and nineteen bands playing 36 hours of free live music, there will also be 36 hours of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. A tent will house several gaming stations with LCD televisions and lounge-style seating, and those with the maddest skills will take home a 47-inch Westinghouse LCD TV, the game, a Gibson-designed guitar and an Xbox 360.
The actual ski and ride contest in which teams of two to four people must complete one lap every hour for 36 hours to qualify for a $3,600 grand prize is sold out, but the slopes are still open to everyone throughout the event. "One of the most special things about this is seeing the sunrise," says Keystone's Lindsey Fussenegger. "When else do you get to ski sunset and sunrise?"
Lift tickets are $69; for more information, call 1-888-SKI-KEYSTONE or go to www.keystone36.com.
