Starting tonight at 7 p.m. in the intimate front parlor of the Byers-Evans House, 1310 Bannock Street, In a Holiday Mood is a chance to forget if only for a night about overzealous elbow-jabbing shoppers, pushy in-laws and Yuletide traffic. The four dramatically read stories range in tenor from heartwarming to offbeat and humorous, and include, according to Knapp, two pieces that are "not your typical holiday stories," as well as "Vaughn, New Mexico, Christmas Eve 1956," a memory piece by playwright and director Terry Dodd that's reminiscent of Dylan Thomas's A Child's Christmas in Wales.
Tickets are $10. For more information, go to www.homegrowntales.com; call 720-233-0811 for reservations.
