Two Mittens Up

Santa hosts a holiday movie screening.

Although there seem to be Santa Clauses everywhere at this time of year, they're seldom accompanied by the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who. Today, however, all three take part in Movies With Santa, presented by the Shops at Northfield Stapleton, 8340 Northfield Boulevard. According to marketing director Joyce Rocha-Brown, the event begins at 1:30 p.m. at the center's Borders outlet, where Santa, Cindy Lou and the Grinch participate in "a free event for children we're calling Santa's Workshop. We'll have craft activities and free milk and cookies, too." Then at 3 p.m., the Jim Carrey flick How the Grinch Stole Christmas screens at the on-site Harkins Theaters. Tickets for the film are $5, with the entire amount earmarked to benefit the Salvation Army. Rocha-Brown calls it "a whole afternoon of fun for the kids" — as well as for several fictional characters.
