New Year X 4

If one New Year’s countdown just isn’t enough, or texting far-away friends at midnight never makes it through drunk-dialing airwaves, or you’re just tired of bars that are more crowded than Times Square — try ringing in this New Year the multimedia way. Popping its cork for the first time in Denver, New Year’s Nation connects eight cities and four time zones in a super-party streamed live via satellite. And while it might sound like a Geek Squad Saturday night, New Year’s Nation is actually an opportunity to enjoy all the perks of a pre-paid NYE bash with the added mix of seeing how fellow party people are celebrating in cities ranging from New York to Los Angeles.

“Last year we did five cities,” says the night’s founder, Jann Yogman. “This year I wanted to pick up that fourth time zone, and Denver was the obvious choice.”

Starting tonight at 9 p.m. at the 1770 Sherman Street Events Complex, New Year’s Nation includes a four-and-a-half-hour premium open bar, food stations and passed hors d’oeuvre courtesy of Michael’s in Denver, and entertainment by turntablist team Faust and Shortee.

Tickets range from $150 to $225. For more information, check out www.denver.newyearsnation.com.
Mon., Dec. 31, 9 p.m., 2007
