The Fight Is On

Veteran gamer and Colorado Cutthroat Connection founder Gregory Richardson expects the second annual Fall Fighter Frenzy to be among the biggest tourneys he's staged to date, with two full days of play and more than $10,000 in prizes up for grabs.

"Last year we had mad turnout," he notes, in part because of Frenzy's unique format: "Most events like this are for single players, but this is the first event in all my years of competing that's specifically team-based." Some of the best button-pushers in the region will face off in games such as HALO 3 and Tekken 5, including "one of my sponsored players, Ben Eberle, who's considered one of the top ten players in Guitar Hero," Richardson says. "And he's only eight years old."

Doors open at 8 a.m. today and tomorrow at the Tivoli Student Union on the Auraria campus. Admission is $10 to $20; individual tournament registration varies. Get details and a complete schedule at 303-808-7746 or www.coloradocutthroat.com.
