The Sun's Day

SunWorks celebrates the life-giving fire in the sky.

From ancient myths of sun gods to the Cheeto-orange tans of today, humans have constantly shown appreciation for the life-giving globe of super-heated plasma we call Sol. That love affair with the source of all life and energy is celebrated in SunWorks, an exhibit of art aimed at showing the relevance and beauty of space science. The 24 pieces included --; in mediums as diverse as Lego bricks and stained glass -- were culled from hundreds of international submissions and reflect diverse visions of everyone's favorite star. Join other sun-lovers today at Fiske Planetarium, 2414 Regent Drive, on the University of Colorado at Boulder campus, for a special reception from 1 to 3 p.m. If you can't make that, the exhibit will be on display until February 5 before heading to the next stop of its world tour. Admission is free; for details, call 303-492-5002 or go to http://fiske.colorado.edu.
