What's the common thread among cello-slinging singer-songwriter Ian Cooke, goofball Casio-pop wunderkind Magic Cyclops, burlesque dancers and a whole slew of painters, photographers and other visual artists? According to dRE Williams, the common creative spirit of all artists, aided by a loose, shared theme of "birds," will be enough to bring this eclectic flock together at Birds of a Feather tonight at the Oriental Theater, 4335 West 44th Avenue. "We love to bring beautiful people together, and if they don't mesh, at least they mesh at the event," says Williams, executive director for the gathering.

Joining the already eclectic crew are several other musical acts, an aerial performance artist and more; the full lineup is at www.myspace.com/birdsofafeatherevent. The party starts at 9 p.m.; admission is $10. Artwork will stay up at the Oriental through the end of February. For questions, e-mail solidartscollective@q.com or call 303-455-2124.
