Out of the Blue

Waiting for a plane in Seattle, sounding hurried and harried as a final boarding call echoes in the near distance, Josh Blue has this to say about his upcoming Denver show: "Don't hit babies." Blue, who has long vacillated on the great do/don't hit babies debate that divides the nation, is coming out staunchly against in a fundraiser for Child Abuse Prevention Month, Kick Off the Blue, hosted by the Kempe Foundation. (Blue is the color of the awareness ribbon — hence, Blue the comic.) All jokes aside, Blue, an expectant father of a child he refers to on stage as "Borat Blue," is always psyched to come back and perform at the Comedy Works, where he cut his teeth — and even happier to do it for a good cause. The club is at 1226 15th Street; tickets to the 7 p.m. show, available at www.comedyworks.com or 303-595-3637, are $35. Pick a side, America.
