Just Do It

Since feeling the first teases of spring, I've been trying to prepare myself to get back into my warm-weather routine of jogging outside. I've always been the kind of girl who exercises in old, gray sweatpants and T-shirts from my high-school tennis days, so most of that prep work is mental — though it would be nice to download a few new songs for the iPod.

If this were the year I was going to finally get serious about running, I'd head down to today's fourth annual Nike-Town Women's Day Celebration, where experts will be on hand to show me how to set up a Nike + shoe censor to an iPod Nano, giving me audible performance updates between tunes. Festivities will also include a fashion show featuring Nike's hottest spring looks, plus makeup and skin-care treatments from Bare Essentials. Once you've gotten the wardrobe down, you can take part in a free workout session with fitness instructors from the Colorado Athletic Club, the Denver Athletic Club, FORZA Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness. Or skip the workout and indulge in sports drinks and free food from the Paramount Cafe.

The party runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at NikeTown, 500 16th Street. Guests are encouraged to RSVP to denverrsvp@nike.com. For information, call 303-623-6453.
